FYI

If you are someone who would like to see more pics of the Scottie activities & you do not know about the school website & their 'Sportszone' page, this is for your information!
Go to: http://www.philip.k12.sd.us then click on the 'Link to Philip Schools & Sports Schedules' on your left about 4 items from the top. - click on the 'about our school' next to the desk with the apple on it in the white box - then click on 'Check out our sportszone for more pictures' line - then scroll down to the different sports & click on the one you want to see pics of! Not too hard once you know what to do!
I am trying to keep it sort of updated with pics & info. This is the first year I have had access to it. I just figured with all the pics I take, I just as well share them with the people who would like to see them! Just if you are interested!

PHILIP SCOTTIES are 2008 SD CLASS 'B' VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!

Colby with her coaches & the trophy & the game ball today after the community Welcome Home ceremony at the school
The 2008 Philip Scottie State Champion Volleyball Team!

The firemen & city cop gave the girls an escort back into town last night when they came home & did it again today for a drive around town! They had their lights flashing & their whistles going! It was great! If you look closely you can see Colby sticking her head out the window there!

Here she is just going into the game at state.

Here she gets a dig

Woo Hoo!!!! We got a kill!!!

Watching the game very intently from the bench
OK, now it's her turn to go in to play again!

New game starts - girls huddle up to begin...

Good job here with another Scottie kill!

We are up 24-20 here and it looks like she can feel the state championship as she waits for the last serve to be put up!!!

Oh My GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're so happy we all hug & cry!!!!!!!!!!!

One last time we say 'Good Game' to the opponent after the game...

Team & parents went to Boston's to eat after the victory - so we snapped a little Mom & Daughter pic here!

Big brother poses for a pic with his 'champion' sister - just like she did with him once before! They both know that feeling now!

Colby had lots of family support at the state tourney!!! Only missing Cass & she kept getting the updates thru texts!

Even Aunt Sonja & kids were able to share the championship game with us!!!! How FUN!!!!!
So we end our season as 33 & 3 & we are 'Totally Satisfied'!!!!
Good Night - after a long - exhausting - AWESOMELY GREAT weekend!!!!

A SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND OF HUNTING!!!!

I messed up on here somehow & put the wrong pic at the end of this blog & when I tried to fix it by putting this one there - this pic ended up at the beginning! I didn't want to delete the whole thing & start over, so here is the pic of Aaron's white tail! Info at the end of this blog entry!
Here we have Tucker with his nice mule from Friday & Chancie with her nice mule from today! Tucker's measured 26 & 1/2" wide & he shot him at 280 yards.

Chancie's is a 5X6 mule that measured 25 & 1/4" wide that she shot at 135 yards.

Lincoln got a White Tail - a 4X4 that measured 20" wide. He shot him at 125 yards.

Here are all the guys that were on the hunt with Chancie this morning.

I was in town when Lincoln got back here with his deer but they thought to line the 3 kids up with their weekend's deer for this nice photo - that Kieth took for us!

So, then when Aaron filled too we had to line up the 4 deer from the weekend for a photo op! But Lincoln had left for Aberdeen a few hours earlier, so we had Colby fill in for him with his deer for the photo. (Not too often do you see a deer photo with a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD MEDAL around their necks!!!! We had just got home from the volleyball welcome home in town!) There will be another post with volleyball info on here as soon as I can get it organized!

Aaron & his nice White Tail that he got later this afternoon. He shot his at 320 yards! It was a 4X4 that measured 19 & 1/4 wide. (Pic is at the start of this entry... Sorry!!!)
This pic is just another one of Chancie & her mule - a side view.

Tucker's 2008 Deer

Tucker spends his deer season guiding lots of others to get their deer - so I am really happy when he gets to get a nice one himself! This weekend has been crazy busy so I didn't really retain the knowledge of the dimensions of this critter - but I do recall him saying it was 27" to the 'cheaters' & like 25 something maybe to the inside measurements. I'll have to get back to you on the height though - it's completely left me! It is rather atypical though as it is a 7 X 4!
Lincoln is home from college to hunt this weekend too. When the boys left the house yesterday morning they "Paper - Rock - Scissors" it to see who would take the first shot at something they liked! After 4 times of being tied, Tucker finally won that, so he got to shoot this guy! After dinner they went out again for awhile until it was time to leave for the semi-final match of the state volleyball tourney in Rapid - they didn't get anything in the afternoon.
And PHILIP WON THE SEMI-FINAL MATCH SO WE ARE IN THE CLASS 'B' VOLLEYBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS AFTERNOON AT 3:00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SCOTTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a side view here of the critter.

Gee, it's really too bad that these 2 guys can't have a little fun when they are doing something together isn't it?!?
This morning the boys and Chancie & Aaron went out again to hunt for 3 more good ones! Lincoln, Chancie, & Aaron all have tags to fill - this is the first available weekend for any of them to hunt - it is also the last weekend! So we sure hope they all get what they are after today! We do have to quit early - shortly after noon today too so we can all go up to Rapid & cheer those Lady Scotties on to hopefully a State volleyball Championship!!!! I will keep you posted as to the outcome of all the events today!

Off They Go to STATE!!!

Colby headed into the bus for the little journey to Rapid for the State Volleyball Tournament!
The cheerleaders decorated the bus windows with each of the players names & numbers - here's Colby!

Off they go! They practice today when they get there & then play tomorrow at 2:00 for the first time - then Friday they play at 6:00 pm if they win on Thursday - or 10:00 am if they lose on Thursday. So we sure hope it's a 6:00 game!!! Their 1st opponent is Mt. Vernon.
GO SCOTTIES!!!!!!!!!

THE STARIWAY!!!!!!

Look what we have now!!!!!! I have been SO looking forward to the day that the stairway railing would be finished & now it is in!!! And it really does look SO nice! Makes for a really nice entry to the house!
This afternoon Kieth helped me to stain it all & we got it all stained in 2 hours!!! Mel helped a little with it too. It still needs varnished & I will start on that tomorrow - but I just love it already! I thought I would & now I know I do!!!

This was this afternoon when Mel had just got done with all the building of the staircase & if you look closely you can see Kieth actually up there starting to stain! I was certainly thankful for the help with that job! Mel has done such a nice job with all the finishing work - just the little detail that he puts into everything - it's really nice.
The carpet guys will be back a week from today - next Monday to finish up the floors on Monday & Tuesday. So we have this week left to try to finish up the small jobs that still need done. Then there is State volleyball Thursday - Sat. and all the things that go with getting ready for that... Quite a busy week here!!!

More Deer to Share Pics of!

I asked Bryan if I could put the pics of his & Tyler's deer on here for you to see too cause they are MONSTERS!!! Just shows you what they can grow up on the Cheyenne River breaks!
Both of these guys got their deer this past weekend also. Congrats to both of them as they got awesome bucks! This one of Tyler's is 29 & 3/8 wide! It's wider than Bryan's I guess, but Bryan's is heavier. Both very nice!

Colby's First Deer Hunt!

Colby got this nice 4X5 mule buck today! He measures 19" high & 20" wide. Not bad for her first hunt ever!
Tucker was of course her guide in the process & they were both very happy with the day! He said she dropped him with her first shot (she must take after her Mom!!!) It was a good day for a hunt!

Hate to be Redundant Here, But YEA SCOTTIES!!! REGION 7B VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONS!!!!

WE ARE GOING TO STATE in 2008! And the girls are really pumped!
Philip Scotties Volleyball Team - Region 7B Champions - in 3 games even!

Colby steps out as her name is announced before the games begin.

Colby & Sierra sing the National Anthem to start things off. They had a good mic too & you could hear them really well & Colby sang the harmony so it really sounded good!

Colby getting her Region Championship medal.

Going to State for the 2nd year in a row! How exciting!

Here we have the junior volleyball girls along with 3 of the biggest volleyball fans in the student body! These guys have been dressing like this for most of the volleyball games this season! Can you say 'Old School' uniforms?!?!? It's a hoot!
State is a week from tomorrow - November 20th, 21st, & 22nd in Rapid City this year at the Civic Center. So it will be real convenient for us as Kieth can still do his feeding & get to the games!

Philip Scotties Volleyball Girls are District 13B CHAMPIONS!

DO YOU THINK THESE GIRLS LOOK AT ALL EXCITED???
Here is Colby with an 'up' from her spot in the back row.

Here you can see the enthusiasm she puts into the games when she is on the bench!

And here she is getting her District Championship medal.

These are the Scotties Juniors on the volleyball team.

And Colby & Mom after the game. Kieth wasn't able to attend as he was still trying to round up drifted cows from around the country... He was sad to miss it, but should be able to get to the Region game on Tuesday that will be played in Philip I believe.

The team in a good team photo afterwards.

And yeah, we are the #1 team in District 13B! Hoo Yah!!!
